There isn't a single soul on this Earth that does not recognize the word HOPE. We hope for things, people, understandings, and peace. But the most universal thing that we all hope for is LOVE. We all want to be loved and to love someone. There isn't a single soul who doesn't need love.
But before love comes, there is always hope. "I hope I'll get that shirt/dress/skirt." "I hope I'll find someone who loves me for the way I am." "I hope I can be rich someday." "I hope my life will get better soon." "I hope today will be a good day." All began with 'I hope'. You hear less of "I love to get that shirt/dress/skirt", "I love someone who loves me for the way I am", "I love my life!", and "I love today."
Even the world's richest man hopes for something. I hope for things. There are things we can't have, and things we are not meant to have.
1. Hope for object of desire/material things.
This is the most common hope we often hear coming out from people's mouths. We hope for bags, clothes, cars, gadgets, hairstyles, books and so forth. You hear this every single day, and yet we are never really satisfied once we have what we wanted or desired for. It always comes back to wanting more.
2. Hope for love.
Singles are looking for love, couples are hurting because of love, married partners are wondering where their loves have gone to, divorced individuals wondered what happened to the thing called Love. "I hope I'll find someone who loves me for who I am." Tell me if you never hear those words in your life. Before love comes, there is ALWAYS, ALWAYS hope.
3. Hope for world peace.
Beauty pageants use this to win pageant contests, and yet we know wars are still going on and nothing much has really changed over the past years, notably the 9/11 incident. How much is hoping can help in changing the world's chaotic atmosphere? If those people who are behind these wars are really that obstinate, Hope won't change anything. It is just like hoping for penguins to fly.
4. Hope for the better.
Better life, better living conditions, better things, better person, better days. Sir Robert had said to me before that, if you think of good things, you will attract good vibes, but if you think of bad , or rather negative things, you will attract negative vibes to you. It's actually true. Try waking up in the morning and say, "Today will be a good day for me." See how the rest of your day goes. Try waking up in the morning and say, "Oh God, today will suck." The next few minutes, everything will go wrong.
5. Hope for less pain, less hurt, less sorrow.
Pain is inevitable. We feel pain when we break up, grieve, are being cheated on, did a silly mistake, are alone, on the verge of giving up, and the most heartbreaking is when we are lost. Tears are our best friends in times of great sorrows, and your hands will be itching for someone to hold on to. People may think I am doing great by being the person I was before my mum passed away, but the truth is I am hurting, and I am grieving. But I cannot carry my heart on my sleeves every single day, because if I did, I would never learn to be stronger each day, and I would never learn to let her go.
Acknowledge your pain, cry if it's too much to bear inside. Just remember, after the pain surpasses, there is a life given to you, waiting for you to be blissful.
Above all these HOPES, I have a hope that I constantly pray for every single night before I sleep:
I hope I will see my mum soon, because I know she is out there somewhere, waiting with her open arms, her sweet smile and truckloads of stories to tell.
