Selamat Ondu Gawai! Selamat ngintu ari Gawai! I know this post is long due & Gawai is so over, but I've been neglecting my blog. Between Twitter and emails, I always forget to update my blog.
For Gawai this year, I went back with my boyfriend and his family to their village in Bau. They had planned to celebrate the grandparents' 56th wedding anniversary. That's half of the century! :D I've never been to a Bidayuh Gawai celebration. I had so much fun and I enjoyed karaoke-ing & playing with the kids. Such a huge family!
I took hundreds of photos during the 3 days of Gawai, and here are some of them!
BBQ!
Mojo the innocent one.
Lola the mischievous one.
Afternoon nap. :)
At Kampung Duyoh.
Women singing and chanting while swinging on the swing.

Me: "You're too long for small cars."
Him: "Ha? Yaka??"

The kids' game, the Dance-then-stop game. Haha. The winner was the kid in purple. The most hilarious!
Aidan (in blue), Aiman (in red), Ethan (in yellow).
On the third day of Gawai, we planned to go swimming at Suba Buan river, but due to heavy rain for the past two days, the river was way too deep and swift to swim in. So we went to Paku Hot Springs and found nothing. False direction on the the road signage. So, in the end, we just went home.
Fret not, the celebration continues on the next posts!
